The first Map in toy rumble is the Road Mat. 

It's heavily inspired by the og road mat every kid from the 90's to now had. It generates a nostalgic feeling for adults to reminice on their childhood. We really wanted to include it as a main feature in our game. We started by using a photo of the original then decided to create our own version using a softer colour pallet. The map itself went through a lot of changes, we added the hotwheels track and blocks to the map to add extra elements and we wanted to create a typical childs bedroom

Challenges:

- Clunky layout: This took a lot of playing around and rejigging. It was trial and error and we really just started with that looked good and developed a functional layout from there. 

- Copyright mat. We also didn't want to use a photo of the original mat incase there were copyright issues so we decided to create one better suited to our theme.
